Being a traveler requires a sense of adventure. For 13 weeks or more, you're living in a new city, meeting new friends, and contributing to a new hospital. Some travelers decide to bring their pets along as it gives them a sense of being home.

In the medical field, it’s important to expect the unexpected. Heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergency, infections, fevers, and the list goes on. The unexpected may happen in traffic, at the store, or in your own life. Your medical education and experience help you handle medical matters, but what happens when the unexpected happens in your own life?  

As you have likely found in the patients you care for, age is just a number. You probably know people who are 65 years old and no longer work or are very mobile. On the other hand, you might know an 85-year-old who still runs and lives independently.

Housing is one of the most stressful parts of travel nursing. It can make or break a contract, and a bad housing experience can turn someone away from travel nursing for good.
